Ogliastra is a province in eastern Sardinia, Italy. It is the most mountainous province in Sardinia. With only some 58,000 inhabitants, it is also the least populous province of Italy. The whole of Sardinia, and Ogliastra’s no exception, is full of archeological remains from the Bronze age. Hunter-gatherer people lived in little castles called nuraghe, remains of which are dotted all over the countryside.
